Activities

Members are busy hosting events, with the first happening in early January by having the Museum open on Australia Day for visitors

The Western Port Festival weekend, takes place on 25th and 26th February each year. Members are kept busy with displays and hosting visitors. After the street parade, the Museum is manned from 12noon to 4 pm.

We have had a visit by the Warrnambool Flagstaff Hill Battery group and it was apparent that they thoroughly enjoyed seeing our 40 pounder Armstrong Gun, talking to our members about the restoration of the gun and thoroughly enjoying our hospitality. We have also hosted a number of groups, i.e. Scouts, Brotherhood of St Lawrence, St Mary's Primary School - 5 classes, Peninsula Retirees and Seniors Week

Our Society is also represented at the meetings of the South Eastern Historical Association.

We are also represented at the Mornington Peninsula Local History Network group and are members of the Royal Historical Society of Victoria and Museums Australia. The current leadership team is President, Di Maloney; Vice President, John Woolley; Secretary, Lance Hodgins; Treasurer, Dulcie Banks; and Committee members Dorothy Field and Anna Just. .

Museum Hours and Admission

Sundays 2pm - 4pm

Wednesdays 10am - 12 noon

Admission: $3 Adults, $2 Pensioners, Children free

The Museum is not open Good Friday and Christmas Day.

The museum is closed during the months of July and August and reopens in September.

Group Visits

The Museum can be opened for conducted tours: school groups, seniors groups, walking groups, service clubs, history groups etc. by prior arrangement.

Special price for conducted tours.

Seniors, walking groups and service clubs are welcome to come for morning/afternoon tea, talk and tour.
